本展は、伝統的な日本絵画の技法と現代的なアイデアを融合させ、「過去と現代をつなぐ時間と情景」を探求する展覧会です。
1962年、アメリカ合衆国大統領ジョン・F・ケネディは「We choose to go to the Moon.」と語り、そのビジョンは1969年のアポロ11号による月面着陸によって実現しました。月は古くから、神話や芸術表現を通して、人類の想像力を喚起し続けてきた存在です。日本の山水画は、現実の風景を超えた理想郷や精神的世界を描いてきました。
本展に並ぶ作品群は、まだ見ぬ宇宙を理想化された風景として再解釈し、歴史的技法と現代的な志向を結びつける「現代の山水画」を提示します。
This exhibition explores time and landscape as a bridge between the past and the present, by integrating traditional techniques of Japanese painting with contemporary ideas.
In 1962, U.S. President John F. Kennedy declared, “We choose to go to the Moon.” This vision was realized in 1969, when the Apollo 11 mission achieved humanity’s first landing on the lunar surface. Since ancient times, the Moon has continued to inspire human imagination through myth and artistic expression. In Japanese landscape painting, artists have depicted ideal realms and spiritual worlds that transcend physical reality.
The works presented in this exhibition reinterpret the yet-unseen universe as an idealized landscape, proposing a form of contemporary sansui painting that connects historical techniques with modern aspirations.
私の一連の作品は、伝統的な日本絵画の技法と現代的なアイデアを組み合わせて、「過去と現代をつなぐ時間と情景」というテーマを探求しています。
地球に住む人々にとって、月はとても身近な天体です。多くの神話で語られ、それにともなって無数の彫像や絵画が制作されてきました。
また、アメリカ合衆国大統領ジョン・F・ケネディは1962年9月12日にテキサス州ヒューストンのライス大学において行った演説で「We choose to go to the Moon.」と語りました。1969年7月、アポロ11号のミッションの成功によって、人類は初めて月に降り立ちました。
私たちは未だに月に住むことはできませんが、私は月や宇宙に暮らす世界を思い、On the Moonと題して一連の月面の作品を描いています。
日本の絵画では「山水風月」というように、山や水辺、月が好んで描かれてきました。また、古くより日本と中国の山水画では、現実の風景を描くだけではなく、「神仙思想」と結びついて、「理想郷」や「心象風景」が描かれるようになります。私は、まだ見ぬ宇宙と理想郷を重ね合わせ、「現代の山水画」として描いています。
墨、膠、胡粉、岩絵具などを用いて絹に絵を描く技法は、日本画では伝統的な技法です。古典的な技法で、宇宙を描くことで、過去と現在をつなぐ私独自の絵画感を象徴しています。
My body of work explores the theme of time and landscape that connect the past and the present, by combining traditional techniques of Japanese painting with contemporary ideas.
For people living on Earth, the Moon is a very familiar celestial body. It has been spoken of in countless myths, and throughout history has inspired innumerable sculptures and paintings.
In addition, on September 12, 1962, at Rice University in Houston, Texas, U.S. President John F. Kennedy declared, “We choose to go to the Moon.” In July 1969, with the success of the Apollo 11 mission, humanity set foot on the Moon for the first time.
Although we are still unable to live on the Moon, I imagine a world in which people dwell on the Moon and in space. With this vision in mind, I have created a series of lunar-surface works under the title On the Moon.
In Japanese painting, landscapes featuring mountains, water, wind, and the Moon—often described by the phrase sansui fūgetsu—have long been favored subjects. Moreover, in traditional Japanese and Chinese landscape painting, artists did not merely depict real scenery; through its connection with Daoist and immortalist thought, landscapes came to represent ideal realms and inner, imagined worlds.
By overlaying the yet-unseen universe with visions of an ideal land, I depict what I consider to be a contemporary form of landscape painting.
The technique of painting on silk using ink, animal glue, gofun (shell white), and mineral pigments is a traditional method in Japanese painting. By portraying the cosmos through these classical techniques, I seek to symbolize my own painterly sensibility—one that bridges the past and the present.

2011年 東京藝術大学 美術学部絵画科日本画専攻卒業
2013年 東京藝術大学大学院 美術研究科 日本画専攻修士課程修了
2019年までNYを拠点に活動、現在は京都にスタジオを移し制作している。
2020年より神奈川歯科大学・特任教授を務める。
2020年〜2025年 京都芸術大学・専任講師を務めた。
2025年 京都芸術大学大学院 美術研究科芸術専攻（修士）准教授に就任。
